Arrows Face FIFA Ban After Mutizwa Payment Dispute

Golden Arrows have been plunged into a crisis after FIFA issued the Durban club with a global transfer ban for failing to settle monies owed to former striker Knox Mutizwa.

The 32-year-old Zimbabwean forward, who spent eight seasons with Arrows before departing at the end of the last campaign, is at the centre of the dispute that has now triggered a three-window registration ban.

Mutizwa, now on the books of Richards Bay, was awarded a settlement following his exit, but FIFA ruled that Arrows did not comply with the agreed terms.

In correspondence to the club, FIFA confirmed: “A ban from registering new players internationally and nationally has been implemented… The registration ban will remain active until the amount due is paid and for a maximum duration of up to three entire and consecutive registration periods.”

The ruling makes Arrows the latest Premier Soccer League side to fall foul of FIFA’s disciplinary measures, following a similar sanction imposed on TS Galaxy earlier this season.

With the January transfer window looming, Arrows’ hierarchy face urgent pressure to resolve the matter. Failure to produce proof of payment will leave the team unable to bring in reinforcements until as far as July 2027, placing significant strain on their competitiveness and long-term planning.
